COVID-19 Protocols at Hespeler Animal Hospital

April 28th, 2020 Posted in Uncategorized

Now that Ontario has started to relax some of the protocols, we are able to as well.  Here’s what to expect when you come to the clinic:

1/ Our front door will no longer be locked. You can enter the clinic, but please practice Physical Distancing. If someone is at the desk, wait until they have left before you come in. Waterloo Region is mandating masks in all public places, so please bring one with you and wear it in the waiting room.

2/ All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash (NO flexi-leashes please) and all cats in a carrier or leash and harness.

3/ If you are here for an appointment, the receptionist will have you go into an exam rooms.  Chairs have been removed from our waiting room. Once you are in the exam room, you may remove your mask unless a staff member has to come within six feet of you (we will do our best to stay at least six feet from you).

4/ If both rooms are full,  we will ask you to return to your car and wait there for our call. For this reason, please bring a FULLY CHARGED CELL PHONE.

Please let us know if you are sick with respiratory signs or have had contact with someone known to be infected with the COVID-19 virus. We will figure out a plan to provide veterinary care for your pet in that case, because extra precautions will have to be taken to protect everyone involved.  Finally, thanks for your patience and understanding during these very difficult times.

In addition to our already stringent disinfection practices, we have also implemented extra hygiene and safety measures, to keep you and our staff as healthy as possible. We are disinfecting our Point of Sale terminal, tables, chairs, door handles, etc between each client.

If you want to reduce your wait time for your pet’s appointment, please fill out the Google Form at the bottom of this page:
